Precision Code Works (PCW) was established in 2013 by a team of automotive calibration and software and powertrain engineers with one objective: to apply proper engineering methodology, data and software automation to professional ECU calibration.
Our experience began long before Precision Code Works.
Our engineers have worked through successive generations of electronic engine management — from comparatively simple early boost, fuelling and ignition control strategies to modern torque-based powertrain management involving increasingly complex ECU, TCU, emissions, thermal-management and vehicle-network interactions.
That history matters.
Modern calibration is not simply a question of locating a few maps and increasing their values. An engine control system is a collection of interconnected mathematical models, limits, monitoring functions and protection strategies. A successful calibration requires an understanding of how those systems interact.
That principle has shaped Precision Code Works from the beginning.
From dyno calibration to calibration data
Our background combines practical vehicle calibration with software engineering.
Over decades of development work, our engineers have calibrated vehicles on the road, on chassis dynamometers and through detailed datalog analysis. That practical experience has been combined with increasingly sophisticated methods of analysing ECU software and calibration data.
Rather than treating an ECU binary as an anonymous file, Precision Code Works has invested heavily in understanding the underlying calibration structure.
Depending upon the control system, this can include engineering datasets and description formats such as DAMOS and A2L, software-version analysis, calibration-map identification, conversion information, axes, functions, characteristics and ECU-specific control strategies.
